In this class, we will focus on different floor work moves and most importantly you will learn “flow” which will help you transform your fluidity into a nostalgic routine . I will also add in my own sensual dance moves that will help you transition smoothly. We will begin the lesson with a warm-up, and then the fun starts as I attentively teach the hottest floor and flow moves. At the end of class, we will put all the moves together and dance full out to a hot song followed by a cool down.

Alethea Austin: Signature Floor-Work
Alethea Austin, USPDF Champion 2010 and USPDF Miss Sexy 2009, is known as much for her floor-work as her skills on the pole. This 90 minute workshop aims to make students of all levels comfortable with their floor-work. Basic and advanced options are given to ensure that every student feels challenged. The class covers everything from flare leg moves, crawls, slinks, slides, and body rolls to more acrobatic floor-work such as shoulder-rolls, candlesticks and planks. In the last part of class, Alethea shows you how to incorporate all of the elements that you have learned into a fluid and sexy, musically attuned free floor dance.

This 90 minute workshop taught by Alethea Austin, USPDF Champion 2010 and USPDF Miss Sexy 2009, is designed to take your Pole Tricks to the next level of performance on the pole. Class will be broken into beginning/intermediate and advance groups. Emphasis will be placed on achieving tricks each student is ready for and learning transitional options in and out. Miss Pole Dance Australia winner ‘Cleo’ has lots of cool, different tricks and pole combinations to teach you with a bit of aussie flavor but for this workshop you must be at an advanced level. Can be taught on static or spinny pole. Learn her signature tricks such as the Iron Maiden, Twisted Sister, Hurricane kicks and Special K handstand or anything else you may have seen on Youtube.

March 31, 2012The Aerial Cabaret was a HUGE success, and now it’s time to celebrate with drinks, good friends, and absolutely NO poles OR hoops! Come get to know your classmates in a context outside of fitness. We’ll be at Opal Divine’s on South Congress, about a mile from the studio. They have a huge patio, delicious appetizers, and an extensive drink menu. Both dog and kid friendly. I understand Geeks Who Drink will be going on from 10pm – 12am if anyone wants to team up and participate in cheesy trivia. If you can’t make it until later, no worries! People will be trickling in and out all night. Also, be sure to bring cash so we don’t have to split the check a million ways

Girl Next Door – a Pole Dance Soirée is the brainchild of producer, director and pole dancer Kelly Yvonne of Vin’yet Productions. Kelly has choreographed numerous award-winning routines for professional pole dancers, including Natasha Wang (2010 USPDF West Coast Champion, California Pole Dance Championship and Tri-Pole Challenge 1st Place Winner); and Amber Richard (2010 APFA Pole Artist of the Year).
Creative Poleography is a designed to teach dancers how to learn and retain choreography as well as begin creating their own pole performance pieces. This 1.5 hour long workshop includes a dance-based warm-up, poleography exercises and a choreographed routine. It will also explore intentional movement, concept development and musicality. The Aerial Handstands Intensive
In the “Aerial Handstands Intensive” workshop you will learn correct arm placements for safely performing aerial handstand variations on the pole using the forearm grip, elbow grip, split grip, twisted grip, and true grip.
We will discuss and practice methods of integrating these poses into beautiful, safe, and dance-worthy … combinations, as well as strength training methods to help make these poses even more secure and gain more extension. You will learn ways to get into these holds from handsprings, levitations, and from other inverted poses. Get ready to drop some jaws with the skills you’ll develop in this class!
Conditioning: Flexibility Training for Pole Dancing
Along with increased flexibility comes increased freedom of movement for pole dancers. The more flexible one becomes, the greater number of advanced holds one becomes capable of, and the more one begins to generate beautiful and awe-worthy lines and postures. All pole dancers covet increased flexibility, and in this workshop, David will teach the methods that he uses in his own flexibility training. Dancers will receive an introduction to back bending and learn how to make the spine more pliable while also opening the hips. Following this, David will teach you how to perform the Proprioreceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (or PNF) method on yourself to help safely and quickly see increases in muscular flexibility to help develop beautiful extensions and splits.
Some partner-based stretching techniques will also be explained and demonstrated. Following this, some techniques for performing flexibility-based poses on the pole will be discussed and practiced.

October 3, 2011Thursday October 6th Brynn and Sarah will be pole dancing at Qua on 4th St from 10:30PM to 1:30AM. If you haven’t made it out to see these ladies yet, then get yourself over there and be amazed!!!
Sunday October 9th, Sarah will be teaching an Intro to Pole Dance and Fitness workshop at Forbidden Fruit. The cost is $20 if you pay in advance, or $25 at the door. This is a 2-hour class and it includes a 10% shopping discount after the class!
Saturday October 15th is the 2nd Annual Freakshow Festival in downtown Austin.
“FREAK SHOW Festival is a one-day, outdoor festival combining the Performance Art of the ‘Circus Freak’ with Rockabilly & Psychobilly Music! The festival will be cleverly laid out with a myriad of merchandise vendors, mysterious circus tents and local food trailers – not to mention the roaming FREAK performers – all leading the way to the FREAK SHOW Circus tent and Music Stage!
Performing live throughout the festival will be PURE Cirkus of Seattle, Washington who showcase of fusion of traveling FREAK SHOW, burlesque, pyrotechnic theatre and combative cabaret. Also featured at the festival will be Dolls from the Crypt Horror
